NHI Site of the Month:
Louisiana Speaks. This
site provides an overview of planning efforts at multiple levels throughout
areas of Louisiana affected by Hurricane Katrina. These include individual
building reconstruction as well as neighborhood, parish, and regional
plans. Much of the planning and design work in the state since Katrina
has been led by leading New Urbanists such as Andres Duany and Peter
Calthorpe. The site provides access to data about each location, downloads
of the results of planning studies and meetings, and media reports.
