Associate Project Manager

Fenway CDC is a neighborhood-based membership organization devoted to enhancing the stability, sustainability and diversity of the Fenway neighborhood of Boston by providing opportunities for all Fenway residents, particularly those of limited means, to thrive in the community. One of the important ways we accomplish this is through the development and maintenance of affordable housing. We are seeking candidates for the position of Associate Project Manager possessing a strong commitment to equity and community development to assist the Director of Housing with all tasks associated with prospecting for, evaluating, the acquisition, construction and/or rehabilitation of affordable housing developments in the Fenway neighborhood and surrounding areas.  Fenway currently has multiple, active pipelines including 52 units in development and another 100+ units in the feasibility stage.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with initial feasibility studies of new, selected opportunities.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing development finance principles.
  • Assist with completion and submission of project funding and finance applications.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with development partners, funding agencies, lenders, and community and advocacy groups in connection with specific projects.
  • Provide support to, and manage deliverables from, the development team, including architects, consultants, attorneys, engineers and other project specialists.
  • Support and assist Housing Director with other tasks required to further successful completion of Fenway CDC projects.
  • Attend Fenway CDC Housing Committee meetings, other on-site public and community meetings as well as project team meetings.
  • Carry out administrative tasks including communications, record keeping, correspondence and filing.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest and passion for learning about affordable housing and community development.
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in community development and planning, real estate, public policy or related field. Master’s preferred or one year of comparable experience in a related field.
  • Ability to undertake, balance and manage multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Strong team player with positive attitude; should be self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
