The Partnership for Working Familes: Advancing The New Urban Agenda

The Partnership for Working Families is pleased to host Advancing the New Urban Agenda, a three-day convening in Washington, D.C.
Organizing for justice in our nation’s economic and environmental recovery requires innovation, ingenuity and deep relationships at the local and regional level.
Join hundreds of community, union, environmental and faith leaders, progressive local officials, and regional policy specialists as we chart out our New Urban Agenda for America, exploring exciting campaigns, nuts and bolts strategies, cutting edge policies, and our shared vision for a country that works.
Themes will include:
- From Docks to Dumps: Organizing the Supply Chain for Economic and Environmental Justice
- Community Benefits and Beyond: An Organizing Platform for Sites and Cities
- Green and Good: Setting (and getting!) Community, Environmental and Worker Standards

In conjunction with Advancing the New Urban Agenda, the Partnership is hosting Building An America That Works, a construction track organized by the Construction Career Opportunities Project.
Building an America That Works is designed for local and national building trades leaders, business managers, organizers, political directors, and building trades councils and affiliates who are interested in:
* Expanding market share through innovative public policy.- Making the case that unionized construction serves the broader public interest.
- Helping elected officials connect union construction careers to urban employment and community investment policies.
- Creating career pipelines for a successful, growing and diverse membership.
